Hi guys,

I'm new to the forum and signed up because I thought this would be the best place to find the car I want. I am looking for an 89 505 sedan preferably a turbo or even a V6. I would like one in very nice condition.

Hopefully, you all can help me.

Thanks

Kris

Good luck, they're hard as hell to find.
And when you, they're 95% of the time automatics.
I've tried for ever to find a 89 505 turbo 5spd red sedan, but came up short, then started looking for 86-88 red sedans.
now, i don't know what I want to get: a bimmer, volvo, or a 505.

Where do you live?
It could be easier than you think, and then again it could blow up in your face. Last August when the diff went in my 505 2.2 NA i thought id buy a nice turbo that would last me a good time, and now i have 4 505s and none running... but that could be different by the end of the week. When I did think I'd found gold, a dark red beauty with one owner and 100K the seller managed to overheat it and crack the head when delivering it to me.
I wouldn't narrow it out to the '89 model year like that, you could be looking for years for a good example -- if there is one in existence for sale.

That said I know of 2 or 3 v6s for sale in the San Fransisco bay - one 5 speed and top dollar... and I myself might be interested in selling a turbo automatic this summer. All are '88s and before and I guess depends were you are in the world.

Looks shiny and NICE! Price is right too.

89' 505 turbo

Good luck with the search - they're a rare bird. Personally I like the cleaner lines of the earlier cars.

89' 505 turbo

That's my old car and the owner is a P.O.S. and again it an autotragic.... undercarriage is not the best on her either. I do miss the old girl though in Gunmetal, not the crappy Macco black paint, 89' turbo with the kit should not be black in my opinion...

Damn - I thought it was a familiar car, but totally forgot about that. Thanks for mentioning it Nick!

biggrin.gif Yeah It's ok Rabin, the owner cancelled his payment after some work we did that we split 50\50 on the bill right after he bought it. Like the car had a loose coil wire and she had a quitting problem and also had gas in the oil and change to winter tires, it was only like $300 but my dad didn't even wanted to sell the car, because it was his GF's car orginally and he first fell in love with her because of the car, and now they're married so it has history....
Everything that the car has for new parts on that list, I got calls for my car by the Mechanic. And he use to work for my father. he works on all the old stuff still. Alfa's, Fiat, BMW's older Audi and VW's We don't want to help the owner out though, the mechanic he's alright... But what that guy pulled with us and also my friend sold him a 84' 533 bimmer and he also as well tried to screw him also.... Shady

Hi guys,

Thank you all for replying to my post. First, I am in Houston, TX and do know of a specialist in Austin but they don't have any 505s listed on their website at the moment. I really only want an 89 because I like the body kit, especially in red smile.gif . I had an 84 505 STi in college about 16 years ago and loved it, even though I could barely afford to keep it running. When I had the 84 I always wanted an 89 but couldn't afford one. Now I think I can afford to get one and keep it running cool.gif .

Cheers,

Kris
