Yes, Peugeot released a TSB (technical service bulletin) to their dealer
network back in the 80's about this problem, and the solution was to simply
add a relay. I can describe the hook-up, but it's pretty easy.
I don't recommend a "solid-state" or MOSFET-based relay, as the extra
voltage drop may put you back where you started. (not starting)
