I have the same car and can help you.
1.- if the autochoke is on for too long, try bleeding the cooling system,
sometimes air gets trapped in there (is a high point)
2.- if the autochoke is merely idling to high, the adjustment is a very small
screw that points down. you can see the screw if you reach under the black
cover, looking from where the right engne mount is. (I can take
a picture if you need me to)
