Actually..that sounds like the clutch clip. On my car it was the metal part of the clip that
failed...on most cars it's the nylon/plastic part that fails.
Either way, I think it's the clip. I haven't been in my clutch clip area in quite some time so I
can't remember exactly how to change it. Also, it's hard to explain via email anyway...
But the best way is to get the clip into place, THEN pull the clutch cable up which allows the new
clip to grab the cable. If you try and put the clip on as your fitting it to the cable too, it's
very hard to do.
