the light that your describing is on the bottom of the instrument cluster, more towards the bottom of the temp gauge? if so, that's the coolant level warning indicator. If your sure the level is OK, the sending units seem to go bad often, and say they are low on coolant when they are not.

the sending unit is on the top, passenger side of the radiator with to wires going to it.
