Not sure if this suits your model but I have a 1986 Peugeot Workshop manual
in pdf which describes the HVAC system and also has troubleshooting/repair
info.
I can either email it to you (3MB) or upload it to a server (mytempdir.com)

Happy Friday!
I am on my 3rd 505 ('81 & '82 turbo diesels and now an '85 Turbo N9T)
but I have never had the need to delve into the guts of the heating
system other than stopping a squeaky blower motor on one car.
How does the temp control work? Is the flow of coolant through the
heat exchanger or the flow of air over the heat exchanger regulated?
On this N9T (old style dash, no ECU's to bother with) the heat is
either ON or OFF, there is little control of the temp at the lower end
of the spectrum. If I adjust the temp control lever right off then no
heat, but if I increase it to just the first notch then WHAM! way too
much heat for my liking in our temperate climate (BC Lower Mainland).
Has anyone else had this "problem"? Any solutions - new seals etc?
