Hi Raminder:
Nice comparison !
Are there new peugeots in Indian roads these days? How are they being viewed by customers/market. I am originally from Nepal and I hear that there are many new ones there now, and that they stand out among all the new imports... looks/style, comfort etc..

Hi, this is Raminder from Delhi, India. I have been on this group for I
think the last 3 years. I have been getting priceless advice from the
group on how to keep my 1991 405 turbo diesel running in a country where
Peugeots are much rarer than they they are in North America. More than
the Peugeot tips, I am gratetful for for the friends that I have made on
this group. Internet communities are great, but they are also in a way
anonymous and impersonal. For me, Peugeot-L has been very different
because not only have I have had the opportunity to interact with some
genuine Peugeot lovers online but I have also been able to meet some of
them in person. Sasi Menon from Jaipur (India) is a good friend of mine
because of this group. Rabin James (also a group member) and his wife
Myrina from Canada are now in India and we are having a great time
together..
Interestingly, on my professional work front, I am doing a business
strategy consulting project on VoIP (Voice Over Internet Protocol). One
early finding of this research is that "New Age" communication
technologies/companies are doing much much better than traditional
telecom companies because they are more successful at building loyal
online communities (AOL, Yahoo, MSM, Google, Skype etc.). Why are they
more successful at building such loyal online communities? I don't know
yet, but when the research is over, I expect find that the reasons for
success for such online communities are going to be very similar to the
reason why most of us are Peugeot freaks. The reasons will be common:
- Faith
- Comfort level
- Positive feeling of being in a group that "believes" in the same
values/expectations
- Feeling "good" because we are "different"
- Feeling proud of being part of a group that is fighting an
increasingly difficult battle to "keep alive" what they love and cherish.
A very strange comparison, Peugeot vs VoIP. Does it make sense?
