Peugeot 504, When I was checking the TDC , I inserted a rod in the crankcase hole. I received a phone call and later I forgot the rod was in the flywheel hole.Started the car. The car made a loud noise. The bent rod fell to the bottom of the case. I was able to take it out. The car is running OK but it is making a noise. like a bolt hitting a piece of sheet metal. as it spins around.
Removing the flywheel cover at the bottom. You can see a piece of sheet metal at the top, like a cover that is hitting the flywheel bolts. I was able to pry the metal back away from hitting the bolts. It will run quiet and then the piece will start to vibrate. I can't bend it anymore. What is this plater at the top of the flywheel ?
Does it have something to do with the starter. Before I remove to starter, Does anyone know a way to get the plate out of the way. AB
