For years my (reknown for Pug) garage, at their reccomendation, would
change a few pints of ATF out of the rear(?) of the tranny which was
easily done. If you do that at each oil change you never have to drop
the trans to "change it". Make sense?
All 505 auto trans:
83 - went to 200K no major problems- rust and next owner.?
86 - at 88K no problems
87 - at 185K no problems (the best of the lot!)
88 turbo - at 95k no problems
