I'd say it's the crank sensor. I had this happen on a ZN3J 505 once. It
was pouring rain and the car died when I hit a bump in the road, wouldn't
restart, but after awhile it did.
The key to determine this is if the engine LED stays lit during cranking.
Normally as soon as it detects pulses from the crank sensor, it will go off.
