Re: [Peugeot-L] squealy 505 blower motor temp fix?

The only fix I've ever seen is to pull the motor, and replace the crappy sintered metal bearings with small ball bearings. It was a relatively easy mod, some drilling and cutting, and a few pop-rivets. If you get it before it has made noise too long, the shafts won't me messed up, but the longer you wait the more likely your shaft will be chewed.

I used sealed ball bearings in each one I've torn open, and I never had another problem with the motor. I've had the transistors fail on the speed control though. A Radio Shack transistor (I think it was a 2N3055) works fine as a replacement.
