The pulley flange on the water pumps built for the Peugeot 505 ZN3J is part of the shaft... so yes, the pulley should just "fall off" when the four bolts are removed from the fan clutch. However, the pulley for water pump on most (if not all) of the Volvo version of the PRV engine (also Delorean and Renault) is pressed onto the shaft....

I hope you didn't buy a Volvo pump thinking it was the same thing as the Peugeot unit !

PS - Trying to convert to a Volvo pump on a Peugeot just isn't worth the hassle if you ask me... Not even if the pump was free !
