Rob,
This is strange:
I have a Volvo water pump on my ZN3J V6 for about 5 years now. It is the
same pump.
The only difference was the size of the bolts that hold the fan and
pulley to the water pump flange.
The Volvo uses smaller dia. bolts.
Just buy smaller bolts and use washers and lock washers.
My "Volvo" replacement pump was made in Japan.

The pulley flange on the water pumps built for the
Peugeot 505 ZN3J is part of the shaft... so yes, the
pulley should just "fall off" when the four bolts are
removed from the fan clutch. However, the pulley for
water pump on most (if not all) of the Volvo version
of the PRV engine (also Delorean and Renault) is
Onpressed onto the shaft....
I hope you didn't buy a Volvo pump thinking it was the
same thing as the Peugeot unit !

PS - Trying to convert to a Volvo pump on a Peugeot

if the pump was free !
