Re: [Peugeot-L] 1987 505 ZN3J V6 waterpump

I have at least one Volvo V6 water pump on a Peugeot using the Peugeot clutch fan. I think I sloted and enlarged the fan flange to take the larger bolts It is not hot here and I've turfed the AC so I left off the the evaporator and electric fan and the fan shroud
It is, now the light weight V6 for racing I would prefer to toss the viscous fan and shroud completely and just use the twin electric fans on the evaporator.
You would have enough extra room to carry a couple of terrorists in a pinch

  Paul,

OK, so not all the Volvo water pumps are without a   flange...
(Good thing I said 'most (if not all)'.)

How about the flange offset ? Is the flange on the   same place on the shaft on the two pumps ?

Somehow I think I would have done the conversion   differently increasing the size of the threaded holes   so I could reuse the 8mm bolts that Peugeot uses   rather than reduce the size of the bolts to 7 or 6mm   that Volvo uses... A flying fan and clutch at engine   revs doesn't make for a pretty picture...

I stand by my what I said, it's better to just get the   pump designed for the application rather than attempt   a conversion.
