[Peugeot-L] Would you believe? (was N9TE Turbo Replacement)

First of all, thanks to those who gave me advice on turbo replacement. After removing all the ancillaries from the passenger side of the engine, I got to the turbo. Well, out of curiousity, I stuck my finger inside the intake side and checked to see if the impeller was seized or loose. It spun perfectly, and furthermore, there was almost no play in the shaft.

Given this circumstance, I did a little further inspection. I crawled under the car with my work light, and once underneath, discovered that the actuator rod to the wastegate was not connected, and the wastegate itself was wide open.

I went ahead and reattached the rod, put on a new clip (missing, of course) and reassembled everything I had disassembled. Voila...instant boost.

Anyone want a rebuilt turbo?

Feeling slightly stupid yet relieved,

Adam
