Hello Puglovers,
My 89 505 V6 Automatic is showing two symptoms lately:
1- After I filled the tank at the gas station on Tuesday,there is a strong gasoline smell in the car.It is so strong that I have to roll the windows down and open the sun roof while driving in order to chase the smell.I tried to localize the origin but so far no clue.It does not seem that I have a leak as my gauge is showing a level that is okay considering the distance I drove since I filled up the tank.
Does anybody have such experience with a 505? Any idea that can be shared?
2- The second symptom is a whining noise that seems coming from the front since last week.It starts when the speedo reaches 20 mph and the noise level goes higher as the speed increases.I tried to turn the ignition off with the gear selector in neutral and the car coasting at about 40 mph, but no change.
Any idea where I should focus my search? Thinking about wheel bearings in the front,does anybody have experience changing them?Are there two or one per wheel?Any special tool to do the job?
