It took almost 3 months but the 404 Automatique is finally on the way
to sunny Newburgh, having been loaded on the truck last Friday. The
guy who owned it never registered it, and did not realize when he sold
it that he could not just transfer an old registration from 2 owners
ago.
Then he delayed meeting my friend in WA to pay the balance.
Then he could not get the car doewn his snow covered driveway.
Then he mailed me the title without signing ( partially my friend's
fault)
Then I had trouble with NYS DMV because I registered the car with blue
vintage 1968 NY plates ( not common in NY), "CO-28", which are
special issue county clerk plates for Orange County, with low numbers
no one can get any more. You have to find them yourself ( bought these
on ebay and send DMV a photo to prove theyt are legit.
Finally it is coming.
