Hi Todd,
Antennas for Peugeots are kindda tough. The problem isn't with the units
themselves (Hirschmann), but the mounting hardware for the top. As with
many cars, slight variations required a different upper hardware assembly.
Spoilers often are the cause here.
I bought 2 new OEM Hirschmanns off eBay last year and they came with this
press-fit grommet. The thing just disentragrated in my hand with any
pressure. Gotta love plastics.
If you have a dead unit, I'd just send it to Walter Odemer, Co. to fix it.
Hold on to your hardware though. Although you probably have the 6000, it's
of no help. They're ALL 6000 series it seems like. M-B, BMW, etc. Peugeot
specific mounting hardware is tough. There's the top body piece and the
bottom bracket. The bottom braket is easy. You have to have your Peugeot
top body mounting stuff for it to work correctly.
So why didn't I take my old top body hardware stuff and move it over to
either of the two good OEM antennas I bought? I can't get the antenna tip
off. My old tip screwed off, but the new ones are on extremely tight. I
did everything I could think of. Hard Peugeot-Pete wrap to shock the
threads free. Soaked in penetrating oil for weeks. Nothing. I hope
they're not press fit! I asked Mr. Odemer, but his English isn't too great
and I think I caught him on a bad day, but I think he said they're ALL
screw-on. Maybe you need a special tool. I don't want to destroy it, so
I'll probably end up sending him both antennas so he can get the correct top
hardware on the new antenna. <sigh> It's never easy.

Good luck,
