FYI,
I replaced my 1987 505 V-6 Antenna with a JC Whitney Unit back in the late 90's, do not recall the manufacturer, but it was a black anodized unit with a perfect fit and choices of tapered METAL fender external caps to seal the unit as a factory installed antenna. Has worked without fault ever since.
