I've never looked into it, but you could probably put a couple of
microswitches at strategic locations on the shift linkage to pull this off.
I highly recommend you also install a switch on the emergency brake that
makes sure that this is also set before the auto-start can run.
Make sure however you mount the switches, it's a fail-safe (not run) design.
In other words, all 3 switches must be on before it will start, etc. (2 on
the linkage, and one on the brake)
