you'll need to do some modifying.
the electronics in the 89 tail lights is a big (needed) upgrade from
the earlier lights. the plug is different, and it actually sticks
through the rear panel. SO, you'll need to cut a hole in the body, and
need to find some plugs from an 89 to solder onto your existing wires
(not sure if wire color is the same on old/new).
