Peugeot's first FWD PASSENGER car was in 1965 with the 204. Peugeot had been
building FWD vehicles long before then in utility vehicles such as the DB4
in 1950 ish.
I heard that the Indy museum boast that they have every car that one the
races. Peugeot won the first Indy 500 race in 1913, 1916 and 1919, Not a
Peugeot to be seen in the museum. They do have some copys of the photos
taken. A friend brought one of the 1913 winner.
Apparently you are misinformed about the Indy 500.
The track at Indianapolis opened in 1908
However
The first Indy 500 was won by the somewhat famous Marmon Wasp in 1911. It
was the only car in the race without a riding mechanic and was the first racing
car that had a rear view mirror.
True that Peugeot won a good couple races but they did not win the first
one.
Happy Trails
