Re: [Peugeot-L] Re: OT: My next new car: the BMW 335d. Thoughts?

Guys,

My parents bought a black on black E320 Bluetec several months ago, and I can tell you that it's quite sporty! 0-60 in 6.6 seconds. Instant starts even below freezing, etc.

My mother and I took it on a 750 mile road trip when it had just over a thousand miles on it, and I drove through the Tennessee and Virginia mountains with the cruise set on 72 and got 34-35mpg. And the 320 isn't a lightweight car, either!

I agree that BMW has traditionally been more sporty and less luxury than M-B in the past, but, aside from possibly a manual transmission, I'm not sure how the BMW would be more sporty. Perhaps suspension tuning, but having put several thousand miles on my father's 320, the difference, if any, would be minimal at best.  Besides, a diesel Mercedes is as right as rain!

Just my thoughts, though, and I've only driven the E320 and not any BMW diesels, so I can't really compare the two. I can't imagine how you'd go wrong with the E320, though.
