[Peugeot-L] Re: 89 405 Mi16 - rough idle, buzzing fuel pump

Blade,

Check fuel pressure regulator usually locateed on fuel rail. Pull vacume hose off and see if gas comes out. If so, diaphram has hole in it and is no good. There should be a schrader valve on fuel rail. Hook up pressure tester to that. Don't recallwhat correct pressure should be but if it goes sky high on the gauge, its no good. I had same symptoms on a 505 turbo a few years ago. the high pressure caused the fuel pump to buzz like crazy and car ran rough from all the fuel being forced through the injectors.
