Occurs to me a Peugeot with fine interior, mere 40K miles simply cannot be consigned to a yard as junk. I mean, considering the way 505's are vanishing, an incredibly low-mileage, otherwise decent Peugeot has to be worth plus $3000. I'm not acquainted with rusty Peugeots but, surely, unless the underside, the suspension is absolutely 'gone,' I'd be looking for a 2nd opinion from a competent frame mechanic. Moreover, living in the South as you do, is it likely you'll have more road salt to deal with in future?
Anyone else out there with serious rust experience willing to risk an opinion, optimistic or otherwise, for Maree?
