[Peugeot-L] Mi16 New Throttle position switch - odd sticking idle at 1800rpm...HELP!

Hi everyone,

I just had the throttle position switch replaced in my
'89 Mi16 in Boston after the car was giving me a CHECK
ENGINE light under heavy throttle at 5000rpm post-top end engine rebuild.

I got the car last night and am getting some weird symptoms. If I accelerate lightly, the car's throttle is sticking at 1800-2000rpm. I can literally not touch the throttle in 4th at 40mph and I might as well have the cruise control on. Same if I am at a stop. If I just touch the throttle, it will then increase to about 1800-2000...if I do a 4000rpm rev, it drops back to normal.

If I smack the throttle and rev the engine while driving, the idle returns to normal too...850-900rpm. I've been having to brake, shift to neutral, hit the throttle to reset the idle and come to a stop. Kind of a pain....

Did my mechanic not "set" the throttle position switch when he installed it? How do I fix this? Quick fix, hopefully?

Thanks everyone!
