Yep. Supposedly it sold for $225K on eBay, after being a no-sale at
the Gooding & Co. auction at Pebble Beach in 2006. But
subsequent to the eBay episode, it appeared in Christie's sale in
Monterey in 2007. Not sure whether it "sold." This advertiser is not
the same owner that placed it with Gooding in 2006, but I suspect
it's a consignment, since they're still using the same text I wrote for
one of the auction companies.
The seller is waiting for the actual value to rise to the level of his
expectations.
