My brother helped me with mine (Oh! the horror!), and IIRC, what he
did was a light application of Vaseline to the rubber, then he set it
into the port, slipped the injector into the rubber, and pushed. He
might have had to 'work' them a bit with a popsicle stick or some
such as he was pushing.
