You can tow the car with either vehicle provided you have minimum class 3 hitch, tow dolly with brakes and licensed ( since the car likely is not licensed), tow lights since the car will be 5 feet further than the lights on the dolly which also needs lights, mount the car on the dolly backwards ( rear wheel drive) with the steering locked straight, add some weight to the rear of the towing vehicle to prevent it from being pushed around especially on slippery roads ( especially the pick up). Why not contact a car hauler? Chances are it will cost the same as doing it yourself without the aggravation.

Hey there again folks,
I bought a wrecked 505 off of ebay for parts. Guy said it was running but I cant count on that. I was wondering if it is possible to tow it about 6-7 hours with another 505. I can't afford a mover and I can't find a rental truck around here. I have an 89 505S 2.2 4cyl in good running condition. I was thinking the following:

Snugly attach other car tobackof mine using big chains. "Pad" the back bumper with cardboard. Attach chains to frame and tighten.

If brakes are working on car, attach chain to my peugeot and have a friend in the towed car to brake when I do.

I have a friend with a 91 izuzu 4cyl std. truck with a hitch, get a towing bar or dolly and pull car with that.

Any opinions on what would be the cheapest and safest?

Thanks
