A great big Howdy Doody THANK YOU to all the guys who volunteered information and advice when the clutch cable on my 405S messed up. Messed up isn't exactly the word - the entire cable broke in half, even the sheath.
Replacing the cable itself is pretty easy but playing with the infamous plastic clip on the pedal wasn't much fun. It didn't break, but I figured I should put a new one in, just in case. I spent about eight hours fiddling with it, mostly trying to extricate it from behind the brake pedal each time it slipped out of my fingers/pliers, etc. I'll do better next time - it shouldn't take me more than four hours.
Prrof positive that even a klutz like me can do it. (I can only imagine how long it would've taken if I didn't have the expertice of you guys to call on.)
