I understand your loyalty to this vise grip, but there are jobs, like
removing the nuts on the inside of the p/s pinion valve on a 505 where
you would have 0% purchase to install any kind of vise grip. I use
those little Snap-on flare nut wrench ends that are 3/8 drive to loosen
the fittings.
Early on in my car work days I bought several Proto flare nut wrenches
that have, at times, not done the job. Since replacing them with
Snap-on wrenches I have never had a problem since.
