Hello All,
Have anyone done a rear shock removal and replace on a 505 Wagon ('92 DL or
'85 505 S)?
My question really relates to removing the shock at the top (the bottom is
easy). At the top there is a horizontal bolt that goes through the shock
bushing and attaches the shock to a mounting bracket. The mounting bracket has two
vertical bolts holding it to the body. I can't see any heads on these bolts
in the cargo section of the wagon.
My question is, can one remove the upper part of the shock by taking the
horizontal bolt out (it doesn't look like there's enough room to do that). Or, do
I try to take the nuts off of the vertical bolts that hold the bracket on?
I'm somewhat afraid to try to take the nuts off the vertical bolts because I'm
afraid I'll end up twisting them off - there have a fair amount of corrosion
on them.
Any tips from anybody that's done this job recently would be appreciated.
