To be more precise, there was no difference between 83 and 86 crankshafts
vis a vis the pilot bushing area, and so your advice is correct concerning
an engine swap. However, with the 85 model year, the crankshafts and main
bearings were altered to redirect oil distribution, and late shafts do not
interchange with early ones.
