Good car too damaged for me, needs a good home.
My poor turbo car! Someone drove into it last week and the insurance company will
probably say it's totaled. I can't afford to fix it up: needs a right headlight and fender,
probably little else. Also recently sprang an oil leak (though before that it was nice and
oiltight).
Rather than see the insurance company sell it as scrap metal, I'd like to see it put to good
use. It has lots of recent work and a few spares too. The damage (front right corner) is
slight, but totals the car and bodywork is way beyond me.
I've had the car since about 2000, and I always had it worked on by the guy I bought it
from, who restored it previously. He's a great mechanic who knows and drives 505 turbos.
Good:
- head rebuilt last year; motor is strong
- rebuilt starter motor, starter boost relay
- new waste gate controller last year, turbo seems sound
- the four alloy wheels with caps
- thousands spent in 1999/2000 on suspension and drivetrain
- interior: leather mostly very good, no splits
- interior: very good dash, door panels, etc.
- interior: carpet is OK and original mats
- all the window glass
- all lights and lenses except front right
- Hella 550's
Bad:
- only some of the window motors work
- sunroof cable is busted (again!)
- recently sprang an oil leak
- front right fender and headlight are wrecked
Spares:
(some of these are in crap shape from sitting around in my damp carport)
- front seats
- instrument cluster
- dashboard controls
- steering wheel
- misc sensors, switches, and stuff
- Hella 550's
- Big box of spare Hella 550 covers
- useless Haynes manual
Was a great driving car, I'll be sad to see it go -- and I really don't want to see it go to the
scrapyard. Would be a great spares car. Any offers? Car is located in 94708.
