I did just that last week.
I wired it this way:
|----------battery
---------
| | |
ground -------|| - ||------cable from key
| - |
---------
|----------starter
The middle pin is left unconnected. The way to know (at least in the relays Ive tested)
which pin in which is the orientation of the pins. 'ground' and 'from key' always
are parallel to each other. 'battery' and 'to starter' are not. Middle pin and 'to starter'
are parallel and are always connected to each other, so you dont use the midle pin.
