Follow-up:
Thanks to the people who had suggestions for me on my problem with
the 405 misfire!
I used the car tonight and it was misfiring again. So when I got
home I took a look at the underhood area in the dark with the engine
running. At idle, there were no unexpected light sources. But when
I blipped the throttle hard, several parasitic little blue sparks
(very small) were visible in the vicinity of all four spark plugs and
some other areas of the wires.
I suppose that means the wires have high resistance or the plug gaps
are way too wide. The latter explanation is unlikely, since they're
only about 18 months old and I gapped them then (40,000 km ago).
Thanks again for the help.
Next queston, plug wire sources? I like the Bougicords, despite thhe
fact that mine let me down after only 16.5 years and 333,000 km ;-)
Any tips on sources?
tj, do you have any?
