Oh deal.. another can of worms just opened. Hope this doesn't turn
into another fruitless debate about which is "worse" or "better"
depending on who you hear from.
They are complete different cars for different type of people.
505 is the last generation of Peugeot from old era and shares many
basic technology from 404 dating back to 60's and mainly based on 504
RWD flatform from 70's.
405, along with 205 lead new generation of front wheel drive
modernized compact cars of 80's through mid 90's.
They are both great cars. But old school folks will prefer heavy duty
feel of good old rear wheel drive sedan. Some puriest will bash and
desmise 405 as a cheap aluminum can of junks.
405, on other hand is built differently with emphazise on lightness.
Body flex is one of the short come of this model and interior tends
rattle more than 505. But it was considered to be one of the best
handling front wheel drive cars of 90's and legendary Peugeot ride is
all there.
If there is a 505 for sale in your area, drive it also and be sure to
compare. it's notlike one model is better than other so we can't
recommend one on other. Everyone's opinion and preference is
difference so you have to feel it your self and decide.
