Ken,
It is a little unusual for the rear motors to fail, because the rear
windows generally don't get so much use. So be sure it is not the
switch, connections, riser scissors, or the rear window lock-out switch.
I have never tried to take one apart; I've always had ready access to
used ones.
Rears are CIM-type, rectangular motors, and are different left to
right, but same front to rear, until '86 when AOP roundish motors
were installed on most front doors (they are interchangeable right to
left, but tended to break the main fulcrum pin in the riser). 504
motors are not interchangeable with 505, only with 604. They are the
same right and left.
