RE: [Peugeot-L] Help! 505 sedan rear door won't open

Hi,
Seems that the general consensus is to look into the mechanism, see if it is clogged up with gunk.
I got the door to open by pushing/pulling and general persuasion, but it is still stiff, so it looks like I should plan on cleaning things up to get it working better.
Koll, do you think it is possible to get the mechanism cleaned up without removing it?

Thanks,

Posted a short write-up on how I did this job (although mine did open initially):

It works so beautifully now. Before it was like opening a crypt. The doors don't get used very often and it's on the outer side of the door seal rubber - so it gets a dust/dirt bath everytime you drive the car. Even though it's inside the door, the latch gets a small dose of road grive through the outer latch.

I didn't take too many pictures, but I plan on doing the right-rear side and will document it fully.

Hope it helps someone.
