Re: [Peugeot-L] Differences between the 1986 XD3T and 1987-1993 XD3?

Thanks for the information about the motor!

I kind of figured the turbo XD3T would have an upgraded fuel system than the naturally aspirated XD3. My major concern is whether or not the motors have a prechamber (indirect injection) or are direct injection. Also, the type of fuel pump matters greatly. A lot of this type of information and how it effects the vegetable oil system is listed on this website: http://people.freenet.de/sthl/poel/E/technikE.htm

Elsbett doesn't really care what kind of car or engine it is. Basically, you send them all of the specifications for your motor (including your injectors) and they mail you back a set of remanufactured injectors made specifically for your motor. Kits are between $900-$1500 USD or $800-$1000 EUR.

Because of the turbo i.e. which is what the T is for it is a different engine   except for the block.
The T turns out an addition probably 20 hp and a third more torque   This means a different pump, pistons, injectors, probably bigger valves and etc.   The 1986 USA version XD3T as I remember puts out 98 hp and 148 ft/lb of torque.   I would enter discussions with the guys making the kits   ...if you don't I will as I am interested   How much is the XD3 kit?
  And where are they?

    Hi Guys,

I'm currently looking for a diesel motor to swap into my Ford Ranger     and I found the perfect specimen: a 1986 505 XD3T (2.5L turbo     diesel?).

My main goal is to run an ELSBETT 1-tank vegetable oil system in it.

ELSBETT lists a kit for the 1987-1993 XD3 motor, but not for the '86     XD3T.

    The kit includes:
. Injection nozzle inserts (rebuilt fuel injectors)
. Glow plugs
. Fuel filter
. Stop-cock
. Hydraulic fuel heat exchanger
. Electric fuel pre-heater (assembled on the fuel filter)
. Temperature sensor
. Relays and relay holder
. Fuel lines
. Coolant lines
. Manual fuel feed pump (to bleed the fuel system)
. Instructions for installation

Do you guys think that the fuel injectors and glow plugs from the     XD3 will work with the XD3T and are these two motors generally     similar? Or are they completely different?

As I pretty much have a choice between any diesel that I find, and I     had just happened to find a local 505 motor and manual transmission,     I am also concerned about parts availability.

Thanks for your time. I did search for such a subject, but most of     the messages were about strictly the diesels or turbodiesels, not     both. ;) I have been surfing the userforums in Germany and one of     the dudes pointed me to the US-based Yahoo Group!

    Thanks again!
