So, here I am at the Annual Superbowl Party, jumping up and pointing at the TV shouting "Wow! A PL-17! That's cool!" It was the second most exciting part of the whole show.

Most friends know to ignore such auto-related outbursts; one asked "What?" and was treated to a half minute of my aluminum rant. Fortunately, he'd recently ridden in a Lotus and understood lightness.

A history note from the American Chemical Society reveals yet another level of sight gag: "Aluminum, the third most abundant element in the earth's crust-and its most plentiful metal-is made from bauxite, a reddish-brown rock discovered in Les Baux, France, in 1821."
