That sounds about right
plus a new clutch kit
plus the fork
plus possibly refacing the flywheel
the pedal rod is probably worn out also
So this makes the car worth about nothing as is
If it has dings or rust forget it
How is the engine?
How's the paint?

Subject: [Peugeot-L] 86 STI Clutch
So, I'm thinking of buying this 86 STI (XN6, sedan) as a daily driver and it
has a broken (snapped in half) clutch fork.
Seeing it's February (cold) I'm not going under the car as the heated garage
has a broken Toyota in it and I'm... well... a candy ass.
Anyway, I called three shops that would work on it and all said the
transmission had to come out. And they were all talking 6-7 hours labor
($600-800). (!)
Is that for real? I'm no expert at doing clutches as I've never worn one
out and have never done one.
Words from those that have been-there/done-that would be appreciated.
Thanks,
