[Peugeot-L] 405 crankshaft pulley options?

Hello Blade
I have the same problem with one of my Isuzu Trooper diesels. Like you I thought about spot welding a new key on the pulley and the crank. I haven't done it yet because I found another Trooper to use as my work truck, but also because I keep hoping to find a better solution to the sloppy pulley issue. I did buy a new(ish) harmonic dampener and timing pulley but it came loose again after 1000 miles. So for me that wasn't worth the hassle. Luckily someone came up with used parts so I could see if it was going to fix it or not. Someone else mentioned that the is a thin mallible metal strip which can be wedged in between the crank and pulleys and tight it up, but I haven't seen this for myself.
Hope this helps
