OnOnOnOnThe pistons are all new custom blower pistons from Jahanns Custom in So. Calif. They have stronger side skirts along with a thicker head for higher boost pressures. We have a set of head studs, o-ringed head and block and are using copper head gasket.
How strong is the block and bottom end? Can we get a new "ball bering" Turbo or do we have to use the older tech turbos?

Hi Otis,
What mods have you done to the motor as it stands, and what new parts are going into it?
Biggest thing to do is determine your budget. With enough cash this could be a 500+ turbo monster...
If you want to stay mostly stock - you can get a custom T3/T4 turbo built from the existing turbo, some larger injectors, and a 3 bar fuel regulator will have you seeing close to 260 - 280 HP.
Depending on how custom you want to go, and what your fabrication skills you have, or are willing to pay for - it can go up from there.
There's been lots of discussion of these motors on 505turbo.com - so I'd check that out first to see what's been discussed.

Subject: [Peugeot-L] 505 Performance mods
I have a 1985 505 Turbo sedan with the engine ready to assemble. I
want to ask the pros what Performance mods are available. I want to
upgrade the turbo for more boost. How much boost can these engines
take before it grenades?
