I would have to Clone myself if I ever chose to drive one of my 404's
more than my 100 miles AAA towing limit,, around to a cross county car
meet.. Why??
Who else would answer my phone when I would have to call myself to
get parts while my 404 is stuck on the highway. I mean Peugeot 404 was
pretty uncommon then, and now-- NO one else has any parts
and age has a lot to do with Any OLD car.
While I would love to restore one 404 to nice shape--- that just
ain't gonna happen, as rust takes a huge toll on the bodies, now
almost 50 years later... Mechanics too just don't last forever, so it
would not be a great idea to drive a barely functioning 404 across
state lines.
I drive one of my mid 1980 's Computer controlled Renaults to car meets,
and I am always welcomed by any Peugeotist that comes to a meet and
wants to share stories.
Cars may rust away, get recycled, but people in the Peugeot always
want to talk to me.
So show up in any beater, ford, chevy, bring your photo book of your
past Peugeots, and be WELCOMED at the Peugeot area anytime!!!!
joe wagner- 32 years of peugeot fun!!!!
