Hi JFW,
On my '84 it is behind the lower dash panel, on the left side of the
steering column.
There is a small cover attached to the bottom of the steering column,
remove that.
Then drop the lower panel that covers the area from the door to the
centre console.
There's a bunch of relays in the space between the hood release and
the steering column.
Last fall, I had no power to the fuel pump and suspected the
tachymetric relay. It turned out to be a burnt connection in the fuse
box.
