[Peugeot-L] Re: 505 Performance mods
OnIMO the biggest problem in the OE design is the intercooler and the o-
ring connections. These engines will take very serious amounts of
boost (20+psi) provided the air is cooled enough. When I had my eurospec
N9TE years ago, it took 18psi with minor tweaking (larger inj),
except when hot-soaked.
Also, the ball bearing turbos are (IMO) a waste of $$$.
The stock turbo will easily produce over 20+psi, but if you want to
always hit that amount of boost a larger turbo will be more efficient
(less heating). Careful tho, you will considerably (sp?) increase the
lag. I believe the stock turbo (.43 comp trim that is) will peak at
about ~25psi with the wastegate always closed.
