My friends,
Should PSA venture again to sell in the U. S. and Canadian market, PSA will have to ignore, among other factors, that a 2 liter engine is a big engine in Europe, Asia, Latin America, Australia & New Zealand.
We are happy with our Honda Accord, 4 inline 2.4 cylinder engine with five-speed automatic transmission.
I ask if PSA has a similarly sized unit with the refinement the Honda exhibits in all respects and the Honda's build quality?
PSA will have to ignore requirements of other markets when designing cars for the U. S. and Canadian market; I doubt PSA would or could.
It is a matter of total design, design of a car or cars for the U. S. -Canada and not making changes to get by with what is available, like they did with the 504, 505, 604 and 405.
Other than quality problems, problems experienced with these cars were result of making do with what was available, cramming it down consumers' throat; speak to former dealers and mechanics; time has passed but they have not forgotten their frustration with PSA.
Bernie
