No offense intended to anyone especially Ben!
Before anyone buys or recommends a VW TDI, I would
suggest some serious research into the problems that
they have been having.....there are several.
One of the more serious is that they are prone to
clogging up the intake to the extent that the air flow
and power are significantly reduced.
The Air Mass Meters are a pattern failure on several
VW models including the TDI's. So much so that the VW
dealers are selling them for $50 to $75.
Interestingly, if you order one for a TDI you will be
quoted about $400. However, if you order one for a
gas model (same part number) it will be $50 to $75!!!
