I don't disagree with you.
What I'm saying is that if a hybrid gets you 45 mpg, and an Echo 5-speed gets you 45mpg. Then why bother with the hybrid?

Now if those hybrids actually delivered on their EPA numbers (60mpg +) that would be one thing...but they don't. So you're actually wasting energy toating around a bunch of nasty batteries everywhere. I'd rather have an efficient non-hybrid, and what's funny is that they get the same mpg.
